Stage 2 Complete

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Yesterday was the day for my vRS, I took it into R-Tech to have the Stage 2 treatment, these are the results...

Remap was done today at R-Tech. Had an awesome morning there and an even better drive back! Couple of things to get done if I want to squeeze a bit extra from it but I'm over the moon!

:D

185/185 to 235/300. No words to describe it other than awesome!

Bet you're pleased with that power gain

nice power curve , im thinking of using them next how much was it

What mods are you running?

Nice figures mate! been thinking about r-tech for my stage 1 map!

So what do you need to get done to squeeze a little more ?

301 ft lbs...Holy ****! I thought I was doing well with 232 ft lbs.

How do you find grip?

was the 185 185 a light stage 1 or standard?

185/185 was standard, I suppose the hardware fitted boosted it up a little from standard.

It's running an FMIC, TIP, 007P, CAI and Turbo Back exhaust (Sports Cat/DP).

To get a little more out of it I need to get a larger TIP, the one currently fitted is apparently quite restrictive.

What TIP do you have and what TIP do you need ? (the reason for asking is I am going for a stage2 remap soon, and have just bought a forge tip but not got around to fitting it yet ).

I have a Creations Motorsport one fitted, I've been advised to get either a Forge one or a SFS 75mm one.

did you get the extras? Launch control

No didn't bother with LC, I thought about it but is want the pop bang one and its not advised with standard rods apparently :(

I thought they had done it on their tester golf with standard internals? I may have to invest some more time and effort then :D

looking at that graph I bet 3-4k goes by quickly?

There's 2 different launch controls that they do, one is 'safe' and the other is hardcore pop pop bang bang lol!

Wonder how these TIPs (aftermarket) differ, they look the same on first glances.

+1 i thought they were all the same other than price??

Good figures buddy. R tech figures are always on the over estimated side TBH. Very rarely do stage 2 on a std K03s get more than 260lbs odd torque, but hats off if you do. The drive i bet is pretty cool

To get a larger TIP is fitting a 75mm one / 3" from a Audi TT/S3 or LCR. But you can't do that without also changing that MAF as our TIP and MAF are smaller 2.5" i think.

I have a Autobahn88 one , same as creation and Forge these are all no different

They are the same.

As mentioned if you want a bigger TIP this means changing the MAF too, and not sure that is gong to get more air into a K03s turbo that is already max'd out, don't see the point IMHO.

Wise advice. One last thing, the torque really drops after its high peak?

Ill try and find the picture, they put a CM and Forge TIP side by side and the difference was quite a bit! SFS have also just released a ko3/s version of the 75mm one so I'm told.

It's an awesome drive, mid-range grunt is fantastic. Liverpool-Lad, it looks drastic but if you go by the graphs figures it's still doing 250ft/lbs @ 5000rpm so it doesn't drop off *that* drastically.

If you're ever over towards Whitchurch way let me know and ill take you out for a spin? I've gone from std to Stage 2 so I would be interested to know the difference between Stage 1 & 2.

R Tech maps are quite aggressive so that type of torque curve is expected. Some mappers set a progressive power curve that the torque is spread across a wider rev range. Some folks prefer that as the power last for longer but is not such a hit like a aggressive map.

Please show pic's, but I still say a Forge, SPS, Autobahn88, Samco, CM etc are all the same size if you are to fit to a STD VRS MAF which is 2.5". I am happy to be proved wrong though.

As stated they probably were comparing a STD 2.5" TIP with a 3" TIP which is obviously different and will not fit your STD MAF.

The fact it fit's to a K03s turbo is not the issue as all they have done is modify to a smaller neck to the turbo side instead of a K04 fitment but the other end is 3" and needs a different MAF, if that makes sense.

Unless they have modified both ends on a K04 turbo TIP to fit a K03s on Turbo side and on MAF side it won't fit our cars.

K03/s CM vs Forge, pic borrowed from FB Group VAG Talk....

Wow noticeable difference !!!

theirs bugger all room down thier surely it would just get squashed down :giggle:

When I was fitting my forge one I had to remove a bracket for a pipe. It's resting against the silicone, ive been keeping an eye on it and it doesn't seem to be wearing or causing any difficulties.
