Daft AFS question

Featured Replies

If I go into the menu option that lets me set my headlights for use on the continent I get the option to select RH or LH

Now for the daft bit.... is that RH right hand drive (i.e. the car) or driving on the right hand side of the road which would be the opposite. In other words in my UK spec car driving in the UK should it be set to RH or LH - I said it was daft but I am just not sure!

In the UK the driver sits on the right hand side, thus 'Right Hand Drive'

That's fine - I did wonder if it meant driving on the right hand side of the road :giggle:

I don't know the answer, but in the UK traffic circulates on the left. So it could be left. Then again, the lights can be angled to the left or the right. So again it would be left.

Now do you KNOW it's Right?

Now I am confused

You should be able to see the shape if the light pattern. For the UK much more if the left hand side will be lit and opposite for the continent do just have a look and see.

its drive related IIRC , you select RH for RHD, ie. driving on the left and LH for LHD (ie. driving on the right).

AFS is disabled if you have it on the wrong setting for your home country, and an amber warning light will flash in the dash after engine startup to remind you. Basically if you have a flashing amber warning, IIRC a bulb then you have the setting wrong unless of course you are out of the country.
