how to change indicator stalk 2004 alhambra/galaxy/sharan

Hi folks

Well I have had to change my mk1 vrs for an alhambra se tdi 130...the mk2 octavia tdi vrs is staying for long while though!

as above, how simple is it to change the cruise indicator stalk on a 2004 alhambra....the cruise is kaput - only works when hi beam is on - useful-not! been diagnosed as the stalk.

anyhow i am fairly handy and have found a used working stalk online, (genuine from a breaker not a pattern new one, although they are the same cost)

anyone done it before - main concern being does the steering wheel have to come off? thought i would ask here before taking her apart for a look. is it a simple enough job?
