Price drop and increased spec in the Czech Republic

Featured Replies

Skoda has launched new 'Fresh' editions on all 3 trim levels, with improved spec and a lowered price. Seems a panic reaction that they are not selling well. i think they have got the value equations of the Rapid wrong. Skoda need to make the Rapid's interior richer and feels more expensive.

This is only in the Czech Republic.

Sales were slow in CZ initially too, but in January it was the third quickest selling car there.

The reason that it's not selling well is because it's ****!

I was speaking to a worker at my local dealer, and they have only sold a couple since it was launched

I've yet to see one on the road. It just doesn't seem all that great value to me.

Popped up to the local dealer with my son.

Showed him a Rapid tdi parked outside. His first reaction said it all. Quote

".....it is a boring looking car that grandad would drive around in".

Seen one...

Fell asleep got woken by the wife screaming managed to save us though at the last min lol.

Well let's hope that Skoda UK take note and do likewise. I am currently looking at a Seat Toledo (same production line as the Rapid) and with a better spec it is still about £2000 cheaper than the Rapid. What's more I can get what I have now a 1.4 TSi with DSG - seems like a no brainer to me as I am sure I won't be able to afford an Octy 3 with a similar spec.
