Hoping to find an Octavia Estate

I'm a many many cars (over 60 in 48 years driving) man, now living in France. I am now looking for an Octavia Estate (never had a Skoda before). But, like many ex-pats, I buy my cars from UK because of cost. Secondhand cars in France cost probably 30% more than equivalent cars in UK.

There are a couple of points I would like clarifying, please. I will buy a diesel version - which one is the most economical? I hope to be able to afford a 2009 facelift model. I am a bit confused over 1.9litre 130 or 140 hp - what's the difference in practice?

I hope I might get a few useful tips from here and, once an owner, will be able to contribute.
