Whats the best way or easiest way to change the PAS fluid, is there drain plugs etc or is it like you do with fiesta's, and pump it out with the return pipe in a bottle and fill up as old fluid gets pumped out?

anyone help would be great

AFAIK it has no change interval on the fabia and would only be replaced if part of the system was compromised eg seal failure.

ahh ok, didn't know that, is it still worth a change though- like they say gearbox's are sealed for life but really everyone knows that the level goes down and deteriorates etc etc?

Fabia gearbox has fill/drain holes as standard unlike the BMW X5 for example (may have changed now). If i'm honest I ignore any gearbox fluid spec from a car manufacturer that doesn't specify a change interval as it does break down with time/use. Merc specifically said it never needed replacing on my last car, then again they also offered a fixed price to change the rear wiper that non of them had. The manufacturer's spec also said it had a 3 year shelf life for storage so I took that as confirmation of Merc's technical aptitude.

PAS wise I don't see any real benefit to changing it as long as it's running at the right level, it's not subject to the same stresses as gearbox fluid.
