Well the Tesla has been sold.

8 months and 8,800 miles.

Great car, I really liked it.

Overall as a car I'd say it's probably one of the best I've owned.

Although if I'd used it for most of my driving (30k per year) the warranty would have run out before two years of ownership were up as it's 50k miles.

Two negatives.

1. Poor quality of the trim.  That's not to say it's not nice as it is, I had the upgraded seats and interior, but things mark so easily it started to annoy me.

I found myself using the Focus RS or Roomster to take the family out because things started to get scratched and marked too easily.  2 and 7 year old.

Abrasion on the seats, small dents in trim, scratches on door panels...

Which meant I was only using it to drive to work.  Something it was great at, but ultimately daft to have a £60,000+ car just to drive 80 miles per day in traffic moving at 50-60mph.

2. Size.  Self explanatory really and not so much of an issue as the above, but tight country lanes and parking spaces make you remember what a barge it is.

Had a great time with the car and the tech, instant power etc... all amazing, if lacking a little in the fun factor beyond the "wow" of the electric torque.

I have replaced it with a new Fiesta ST200 which does me fine, is good fun and has more driving feel, which costing less and freeing up finds for an R34 GT-R (or two) which should appreciate.

:o

Similar to me (except I'm not planning on getting rid of mine any time soon!)

The trim on mine is OK. I do have one piece that isn't being held in place properly - will be sorted when it goes in for a charging issue Tesla need to look at. But whilst nice, I agree, it might not withstand the abuse you'd expect it to on a car costing this much.

"just to drive 80 miles per day". That's more than a lot of people's commute!

Enjoy the Fiesta ST200. Is that now your 80-mile commute car? I hope you don't suffer from another M25 jam or collapsed bridge any time soon! ;)

I'm spreading the miles over the ST200, the Focus RS and the odd other thing.

Found I like driving different stuff, it helps to stop me getting bored so quickly.
