  • Yes, I got the Tesla on Chrstmas Eve. As you'd expect (with two children) Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day have been a bit hectic. But at least it's given me chance to put 120 miles on th

I need one of these!!

New software update on Friday.

Is that for getting it out of a garage or tight space or such, can it steer while in that mode?

Pretty much yes, it auto steers to avoid obstacles using the sensors etc...

Only goes at walking pace for obvious reasons. :D

Where does it "summon" to? Would it follow you if you walked away? How far can you summon it from?

You could have a game of "What's the time Mr Wolf" - that could all go horribly wrong at "dinner time"!

You control it though your mobile.

The car will work as long as the key is within range.

The main idea behind it is going the car in or out of a garage, or parking space when people park to close.

Although there are obviously messing about opportunities.

The front and rear sensors and side sonar stops it from running you over. :)

^^ Always a bonus that! LOL.

"Summon feature"

Given that, apparently, remote start is not legal in the UK, how does this fare legally?

I like it though....how far will it go? What's the activation range?

So if you put they to the side of your head you can double the range!!

Clarkson style! lol.

all it needs now is voice activation through a smart watch

"KITT - come and get me !"

I have to say I love the colour of the car in the sunlight :) MB have come out with a similar colour (which I saw recently on  C class coupe) and it is stunning :)

Does look good on the Tesla,, called Brilliant Blue on the Merc, one of the more popular choices for the new C class..

Facelift, couple of extra things like a centre console and a price rise of £4000 to £5,000.

Mario-Kart mode!!!! Epic if it's for real :)

Richard, fancy confirming? I'm a few months away from being able to do that :)

...and you know you want to :)

I'm not planning on changing or cancelling. I've decided to treat myself to a crazy car. Sensible mid life crisis hit a few years early :)

There's rumour and a post regarding a post ludicrous performance update.

I just meant you know you want to play with the Mario Kart feature if it's for real. Who wouldn't?  :) Maybe BMW could add a Hungry Hippo feature?

Richard, are you going to one of the clubhouse events? I've registered for the one on Sunday 24th next to Heathrow. Tesla phoned me up yesterday saying they had over 100 registrations so have split the day in two parts - I'm going to the afternoon one.

Model X will be there for all to see too :)

I don't know if it's an American thing, but I do like how the model numbers are really considered "names" and not "models" - they don't use (in)definite articles. They'll always say "This is Model S" or "What do you think of Model X?". "Model 3 was a great success at reveal". Not "This is the Model S" :D
