A lucky escape?

I used to own an exeo sport 170TDi. It was a very nice car, being basically a rebadged B7 Audi A4. Much nicer cabin and build feel than an insignia.and the 170 TDi is quite pokey for a diesel.

How do you find the Octavia in comparison? I'm assuming it's an Octavia hatch you have rather than the estate? The reason I ask specifically is one of the parts I didn't like on the Exeo was the rear seat and parcel shelf design, unlike the Octavia the rear bench doesn't fold forward so you don't get the same level load bay and the luggage cover's handle area is much larger on the Exeo so it doesn't easily sit folded back.

My guess would be the leather option wasn't available due to the mk3 stating and mk2 production stopping.

Czech asked UK dealer what to do, heard nothing so assumed the order was cancelled?

Officer at work has an Insignia and I just cannot understand what idiot designed that ridiculous boot! Some engineering genius has somehow managed to make a tiny aperture with a massive distance to the hinge. Not had one in an RTC to cut it off yet, but I bet it weighs a ton! Using it practically, it must be like trying to shove a sheet of 8x4 through a toilet roll tube!

The Cruze is plastic hideousness on wheels! It truly is a horrible car IMO so was very easy to rule out.

Sounds about right for the American market. They have absolutely no taste in styling car interiors, as can be seen on ANY car given to you by a rental place over there. :drunk:

Yup it's an Octy hatch I have now and a saloon Exeo I had. I thought the boot in the Exeo was spacious but the Octy boot is positively cavernous by comparison. Also I prefer the switch gear in the Octy since it feels more modern (The Exeo was pretty nice though). The reason I changed was my current Octy became available (ex branch managers demonstrator) and was a fully load petrol TSi for silly money and had everything I wanted. Having said that if they produced a Mk2 Exeo with similar toys I would seriously consider it as it was really a very nice drive and a pretty decent place to sit.

Remember it's really a Daewoo....South Korea's finest designed it.

Thanks for the information and it's good to hear you liked driving the Exeo as that's my main concern about switching from the Octavia. I know the space is a bit less in the Exeo but apparently it still takes a bike ok which is my main concern as it still has a decent amount of space when compared to a hatchback, there don't seem to be many sporty estates out there in this category.

Since you have waited this much, I woukd just wait a little longer and be the first to own the new Octavia.

As for the above, neither. Honda accord tourer 2.2 diesel if the case

My lease term is actually up, I have less than 4k miles to go before I need a hire car and I'll do that in the next 4-5 weeks, however the service from Skoda has been so poor that TBH I wouldn't entertain buying from them even if I could. There are better alternatives IMO and I'm almost glad that things have gone pear-shaped....

As for the 2.2 Accord Tourer I'd love one, but it comes out too much by the time I've added extras!

Ok so I'm getting an Exeo SE Tech with full leather, Bose system, rear sensors, bi-xenons etc etc etc. Not as powerful as the VRS (143 vs 170) but that's probably a good thing having recently attended a Speed Awareness course! Still a bit disappointed I lost out on the Skoda but hey ho.....

(I now have to find a home for a Milotec rear badge cover (black), 2 x Osram H1 100W and 2 x Osram Night Breaker H7 55W plus 2 x VRS vinyl cut logo's (7cm x 2cm) in matt black).

MODS - not sure if this is classed as selling & if it's allowed - if so please delete the 2nd paragraph?
