Rattle - Sorted

Featured Replies

Think a few people may have experienced this. Got my new Superb 3 weeks ago, quality machine but noticed a bit of a rattle coming from, what I thought, was the air vent in the rear pillar. I checked on line to see of this was a common problem and seen a number of people saying move the vent this way or that could help. I was driving home the other day and noticed that the rattle was particularly bad, so whilst stopped at traffic lights I turned around in seat to "fiddle" with the air vent again, this time the rattle seemed to ease, a lot less frequent. As I was driving I noticed that my seatbelt had loosened a bit so pulled it a bit tighter and low and behold the rattle came back. To cut a long story short the rattle is actually coming from the bottom of the seatbelt casing knocking off of the plastic on the seat. To solve this problem I've attached some of that adhesive tape you put on the feet of furniture to stop it scratching a wooden floor and, so far, this seems to have worked. In fairness I've only done this today and need to test further but if anyone is experiencing this problem I suggest you put your hand down to the base of the seatbelt (beside the door) and hold it tight as you drive, if the noise stops then you know what your problem is.

Hope this helps as there is nothing worse than a rattle.

This for this!

I get a horrible vibrating rattle? from behind me too - I all chk if its the seatbelt casing later on...

Checked mine - nope! Its not the seat belt casing ...

I had an annoying rattle on my brand new twindoor. Sounded like it was comibg from the back seats. Turned out it was the parcel shelf rattling up and down!

Could be worth a check.
