Columbus dvd drive appears to have died

Featured Replies

I have a 4 year old Superb 09 reg. The Columbus went into the start screen / tries to re-boot / off / start screen cycle when I tried to reset it after a DVD failed to play and the media starting screen did not disappear. An extremely helpful local community member ran a scan which showed a fault with the phone but none with the "radio". The fault codes were reset and a second scan showed no faults. A Firmware recovery disc would not spin, so it looks like there is no chance of an easy repair!

Does any one have any suggestions or experience of fitting a new dvd drive which I think is a M5 unit, or is that not the best way to go.

replacement dvd drives are readily available on ebay.

I can get you a drive for less than ebay
