Postal remaps - More-bhp.com

Featured Replies

Postal mapping is very risky, if the ECU is lost or damaged in the post you'll have to buy a replacement and get it coded at the dealer to the car. Whilst postal insurance on special delivery may cover replacing the ECU it will not cover the recoding costs.

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah the posting is what I would be worried about but it would be wrapped up very well and RM Special delivery is usually very good. But if it ECU goes wrong im struck in a world of hurt lol!

Just wondered if there was any horror stories or even successful ones on here?

I had an `ECU Evolutions` ebay postal remap over 4 years ago, could be the same seller with a different name?

Can`t fault it, superb fast service, great progressive map, huge difference! The only issue I had was that it blew a coilpack very shortly afterwards, but have since found out this is down to the plugs need gapping slightly smaller after remap. After re-gapping and some bolt-down coilpacks, this has never happened since. Use Special Delivery well packed all the way, and you`ll be fine.

Cheers for the info guys, a lot to think about.

A few people on uk-mkivs used more bhp & seemed happy with the results.

Had a remap done by these guys 5 years ago (not postal), but very happy with it.

Used more bhp.com they were excellent got it back next day!

Jason was very helpful and knowledgeable

Couldn't fault them and have been running 205bhp for 2 years no issues
