hi all,

just discovered a virus on my computer. i ran AVG and ad-aware. AVG found the virus. but has said it cannot remove it.

i tried to located the folder and file thru the path shown on AVG but doesnt seem to exist.

any ideas?

If you are using XP, turn off system restore and restart in safe mode, then run your virus scanner again.

when im in my control panel it asks me to select a category :confused:

on the left choose switch to classic view.

ah cool, right done that and cleared the cache.

will that be it removed now?

The lovely thing about this is that Sun themselves are distributing the virus - it comes as part of an automatic update for the Sun JRE. I've removed it and gone back to the Microsoft one - just means I have to use IE for sites that need Java applets - like my business banking :thumbdwn:
