I was thinking if I could replace my stock fog lamps with the newer one which has a DRL. Mine is 2009 model and it came with the fog lamp but without the DRL. Has anyone tried doing this?

The fitting will be straightforward enough, however you will then need to run a pair of additional wiring looms to them, I assume directly from the CECM (inside the car above the drivers feet) and then recode the car. with VCDS.
