VAG COM reprogramming cost

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering, if anyone on here has gone to a dealer to program things like the auto locking and other bits and bobs.

Is it worth paying a dealer? Or should I scout out someone on here to do it on a Ross tech system?

Cheers for your help guys!

Dealers do not use VCDS they use VAS and ODIS.

Depending on your relationship with the dealer, expect to pay at least ½hr labour costs for any changes.

Personally I would get someone experienced with VCDS to do the changes, this will probably cost just ‘a drink’.

Our local dealer charges £65.00 for doing any "reprogramming",call it what you may its a 3 minute job at most. Just done a Passat 3C today and got a tenner off the guy after i said i did not want anything for doing it.

Mine did it for free, but then I think I was telling then what could be done (through what I had learnt on here) so they were getting a free lesson.

Yeah, i was aware dealers dont use the same system.. just couldn't remember what it was called haha :). Cheers guys! I will investigate with my nearest skoda dealer. Hopefully do some homework and give my dealer a free lesson to! ;).

If you get your dealer to do the programming please come back and let us know what parameters he could change.

Some dealers state that they cant adjust basicly anything and some dealers say they might be able to enable atleast the autolock..

Would be nice to know what the dealers actually can do..

The dealers are capable of doing most of the changes, whether they know how to do them is a different matter though.
