Fiesta 2L 150bhp v's Fabia 130bhp?

Featured Replies

I have actually beaten an NSX, just before the 911 turbo bottled it...

hee hee this is fun.

More likely - just had a run in with a Mark 4 Golf (1.6) and yes, I did show him the door.... no honest.... I actually did.... When he brings a car home smelling of burnt clutch his Mum will be upset with him...

More reality stories please...

I would love to have know what was under the "hood" of the VW Golf I had a blast with last weekend.

All I know was it had twin zorsts and very big brakes. I had him up to 80 and level until 110 then we ran out of road *coughs* I mean runway.

Sounds like an R32? Did they look like big 18s too?

i know what your saying about catching him off guard but my car has about 130lbft more than the ZR and about 80bhp more(if it was standard) but they are also pretty light(around 200Kg lighter than the fabia and about 450Kg lighter than mine) and we were side by side

drifted off the subject a bit i believe....

in autoexpress whom done a test on the fiesta st, clio 182 cup, seat ibiza fr 1.8t and the furby vrs. the furby beat all of them in the mid range (from about 40mph) tests so from a rolling start where most challanges happen the furby would hold its own, just the 0-60 aint as good and im guessing the handling

he did have 18's but it was either dark blue or black didn't think R32's came in either of those colours! If it was a R32 I'm sure he would have had me for dead.

Where was this? There is one around my way that would eat most cars! Tuned to 240-260bhp (I think) with a few shots of NOS aswell. The car is very rapid and looks just like a normal ZR160. Even supercars would be scared lmao

oxford, maybe it was slightly fettled then

i assumed it was standard and i had always under rated them

Could be the same guy he does get about abit, though if it was I think you would have lost for sure if he was really trying :P

he was trying, total commitement on his face and anguish aswell when he couldn't pass a plain white estate followed by the view of my towbar :D

i saw a Fiesta ST today... nice!

although the diesel version is not rated that well....

er, what diesel version? The ST is petrol only.

The Zetec S on the other hand in avaliable in both petrol and diesel, neither of which are much cop.

Fiesta ST is slower 100+ than the Furby - much to a workmates annoyance! 'Private road tested' them from normal traffic speeds and it was pretty close all the way - ST quicker 80 - 100 and vRS pulling it back from there - in a sprint from standstill the Fiesta's geared better and always wins, 30-80 the vRS is quicker.

Hope this calms you all down. ;)

Six engine options - 1.25-litre (75bhp) petrol; 1.4-litre 16-valve (79bhp) petrol; 1.6-litre 16-valve (98bhp) petrol; 2.0-litre 16-valve (148bhp) petrol; 1.4-litre diesel (67bhp) and 1.6-litre diesel (89bhp).

cough cough

if you look here at the official ford price guide for the mk6 fietsa the ST only comes in 3dr with a 150ps 2.0 petrol.

thank you and good night, my work here is done

You seem to have missed the 'RANGE INFORMATION' title and the fact it continues to explain the trim variants of the Fiesta - IN GENERAL.

The ST is a de-tuned version of the Focus' engine. 150bhp and 3-door.

The Zetec-S comes with a diesel option but quite frankly it's ****e.

"Cough cough" anyone?

I dont know much about Ford engines, but I am pretty sure the 2.0 litre engine in the ST150 is not a detuned ST170 engine, its completely different.

dunno, think it is just a lower version.

but back to the diesel side of things, a 6 speed 130bhp diesel Vs a 90bhp 5 speed diesel, bit obvious the fabia is quicker really

As far as I'm aware, it's a de-tuned version. Almost identical in design, maybe it's minus the VVT.

boo hoo - can someone order me a taxi please - my work here is done too

:P

:D

looking on ford website it just says 2.0 duratec so probably the same engine with different map for lower power

Oh well. I am sure I read on ffoc that it was not the same engine and that the Fiesta one is newly developed or something. Could be wrong, but I cant be bothered to trawl through the threads again. :P

no it's just a 150 version of the Focus ST172 engine.
