Powerflex Bushes Review

Featured Replies

I recently had all my front bushes (wishbone front and rear, anti-roll bar and engine mount/dogbone) replaced for Powerflex ones. Thanks to Jason (Jasvrs) for fitting them, good bloke, did a top job! I thought I'd post a review of what I think of them after a couple of weeks with them fitted.

I have a Fabia vRS (06 reg so BLT engine) and I had a really annoying creaking noise coming from my left front suspension. I had an advisory on my MOT last year that the rear wishbone/console bushes were wearing out, and that was confirmed for me by a garage in January that they needed doing pretty sharpish! Also found out that they were a common problem with Fabias. So I ordered the whole front Powerflex set off eBay, then had them fitted and a wheel alignment done.

Needless to say, the annoying noise has gone, the car feels a LOT more responsive going round corners and ride comfort hasn't changed one bit, so result! I don't personally know whether the wishbone rear bushes are any better than the X shape (Cupra I think) bushes or if they are worth the extra cost, bt I know I'm happy with them!

I also have the Powerflex 65 shore Engine Mount Bush fitted. Now I've heard some stories about the increased vibration being unbearable, or not even existing at all. My experience is that it hardly exists at all. The only times I notice increased vibration is when I'm manoeuvring, so reversing or moving forward slowly in a queue of traffic, but apart from that, no extra vibration.

So that's it. Hope this has proved useful. Once again, thanks to Jasvrs for fitting them.

Me to no increase in vibration they have completely changed the car it was sloppy as hell before blt 06 aswell

Yeah same here. One thing I forgot to mention is that the car seems a lot more responsive when accelerating and gear changes feel a lot more solid too, no jerkiness.

Yup exactly the same with mines tbh and mines wants mapped again

This explains a lot. Just bought an 07 mk1 vrs and its doing the same. Still got 3 month warranty left though.

Only problem with that is they'll fit standard ones which will fail again.

How much for all the bushes?

The entire set of Powerflex front bushes, including wishbone front and rear, anti-roll bar and engine mount came to approx £150.

Glad you posted this as I have been debating that kit. Def going to do it now Thanks mate.

il be going for these too i think. is that price including engine mount ones pal?

sorry just seen the answer

Has anyone experienced both cupra and powerflex bushes. I plan on doing this alongside some other work and was wondering how the ride is compared to the cupra ones. Don't know if any of you know Sheffield roads, but they are pothole central so id like the best balance between performance and ride.

Down to personal preference.

I installed the solid cupra bushes on the wishbones and powerflex ones on the ARB. I have a 1.9 tdi estate. the vibration and ride was way too poor for me afterwards.

The vibration of the diesel comes right through and made the car shake. I switched back to the standard bushes asap.
