Orbital surface scratches

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got some orbital surface scratches that I'd like to get rid of and avoid re-appearing on my 2005 superb. I've never actually owned a car worth giving a damn about until now so need some advice on car care. How should I approach it to get rid of the scratches and provide good protection and of course make it look awesome!? and can anyone recommend products to use?

Should I:

1. T-Cut

2. Wax

3. Seal

? sorry..... novice here.

Could do with being machine polished, and then washed properly to avoid swirling coming back.

The jet wash would be OK right? You're not allowed to hand wash on your drive here in Germany apparently! (f**king ludicrous I know!)

Jetwash should be OK yes.

If you can't wash on your drive that would make polishing not easy as really you need to wash & dry a couple of times as part of the polishing process.

There's a car wash pretty close to my place. I'll have to look like I have alzheimers when I turn up twice for a car wash in two hours! Damn the Germans and their environmental sustainability!

Are you allowed to wash your car inside a garage? :D What about using a jetwash at home, i.e a pressure washer??

Nothing that will run into the land or grey water net work. You're supposed to use car washes and jet washes as they have dedicated drainage so you don't contaminate the land or water...

Apparently you're not allowed to do it on a Sunday either. Nor should you hang your laundry out... Funny ol' country this.

Not exactly sure on every one of the rules, but this is what I hear from colleagues and friends.

What you say about these car washing laws is true

Brother in Law lives there...but he never washes his car anyway and car detailing is non existent

He once put a blanket on the line to air on a Sunday and a neighbour reporrted him!!

He was fined

A country of contradictions like nothing else!!

I think I'd invent a kind of drive in rubber "pool" with a lip on the edge to wash a car in, then re-use the water in some fashion - watering plants or something

Me too

Yea the washing thing is true I've heard.

Also - quiet time.... 13:00-15:00 everyday. No hoovering, DIY etc. it's really only if you live in apartments or conjoined houses. Luckily we live in detached house where no one can hear our Hoover or power tools.

You ought a see the bins. Blue, green, black, yellow and all the bottles are rented. They call it pfand. So if i want a bottle of coke and it's €1, I pay €1.25. Then when I go to a leergut machine you put the bottle in and get a little receipt to claim back. Obviously it's better if your build your bottle up. Got €28 back the other day, crazy stuff here.
