Has anyone on here taken advantage of the Fabia 1.2 SE deal at £8995 I think it is at the moment?

Reason I ask is that I currently have a CR TDI DSGvRS, which I love, but is quite a lump to pay out each month, my wife is getting her new car soon, which will probably become our 'main' car so that demotes the Octy to being a second car almost, which is a shame, so I was considering swapping the Octy for the Fabia deal, it will save me a couple of hundred quid a month which is always good!

I know there will be a world of differenec between the cars, but the Fabia would be a 'shopping trolley' type car, used for going shopping, taking kids to school and generally just as a second car.

I dont really want to swap but when you consider the money it will save me it sort of makes sense, just wondered if anyone had one, how they are getting on with them etc etc that sort of stuff.

I know the 1.2 engine is a fairly older unit, but I suspect for going round town it will be up to the job, as for motorway journies, it wouldnt be used for that sort of stuff.

But as you say cant ignore the money. BUT if your used to the CR TDI power id at consider checking out what sorta deal could be done a TSI verson,

I have driven a 1.2 3 cylinder estate and wasnt keen, polite thing i could say its the cylinder has a distictive sound to it lol

Yes it's a good offer and I like the old three pot; dove our first Fabia I 1.2HTP on a family hols to Europe in 2005. However as Crash states also consider a 1.2TSI. If a new one on VAT free is more than you would be happy with, there are the odd one out there at sensible money/condition on the approved used scheme.

My local dealer rang me up saying my Fabia will be 3 years old in June and would i like to part ex it for the 1.2 SE for £8995. I said to him yes it is a great deal but if i want a new Fabia i would up grade and not down grade. So i said i would like to up grade to a Vrs as long as i can have it for the same price as the 1.2 SE and funny enough he said no.
