Misery - 5 months in and my first bit of battle damage! Wore a stone on the way to the airport today and won a 5 inch crack in the screen. :thumbdwn: Looks like Autoglass will be getting some business next week for a full replacement as repair is not an option or allowed for something that big. Funny how some stone hits sound really bad and hardly leave a scratch and then another wreaks carnage!

Anyone else had new screens fitted on the Furby and, out of interest, any snags or gotchas to watch out for apart from making sure that useful little plastic pass holder clip gets put back in?

Had a windscreen replaced on my last furby. You couldnt tell it had been changed excpet for some excess black sealant visible behind where the VIN number is a the bottom of the windscreen.

Make sure you get the replacement screen with the tinted band at the top if necessary.

happened to me whilst just cruising along at about 55-60 mph.. then thwack.. stone flung up from somewhere.. gave small chip that spread into large crack... :(

Best oine is when you're on the motorway and see the stone get flicked up and heading toward you, but there's nothing you can do about it. Inevitability is something I hate when driving sometimes, but you gotta live with it.

That stone also meant I had to have a new screen but it was a good job done, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two screens at all.

Evidently the Fabia screen also fits several other cars, so there's a choice of sunstrip colour to be had for the asking. I prefer green, but there are others, most of which are better than the default grey.

I had a new windscreen in my fabia VRS a couple of weeks ago from autoglass.I tried to get a deep chip repaired and the repair process just cracked the windscreen.

I was worried that i would end up without a tinted screen but they replaced like for like.

one tip, make sure they check the new screen before they take the old one out. Thefirst one they brought to me had been cracked which meant they had to order another (so i had to take another day off work )
