Rear Quarter Windows Saloon are they the same as hatchback?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Not so long ago I locked my keys in my car(Skoda Fabia 1.4MPI 4 Door Saloon), long story short I smashed the drivers side rear quarter window to get them out.

Now I need to replace the window and want to know if the window is the same as on the hatchback model.

Any tips on fitting will also be much appreciated. :)

You chose the wrong window. Side windows are more of a pita to refit properly that any other glass on the car, that came from a professional glass fitter who installed HGV/Bus windows for a living and did the same as you. If you wanted to get into your car I can suggest a much easier way that wouldn't have damaged it, or your wallet though obviously that's not much use now.

Unfortunately i'm in the same situation with my Fabia RS.

Had to smash the left rear window (is this called the "drivers side rear quarter window"?), the one marked in the picture below.

Is this one the same for all types of fabia 1s, or does the VRs have a special color.

I was offered a lightgreen one of a Fabia 1 combi.

Will this one match, color- and size- wise?

Thanks in advance and greetings from Belgium.

As an update. I bought a green hatchback window from a scrapyard. Was indeed allot of work.

The little window would have been more expensive but also easier to change in retrospect.

that's the drivers side rear passenger window on your car (assuming it's left hand drive) The quarter window is the triangular one to the right. (the one that doesn't open)
