can sold his vRS with its 16 inch winter wheels and tyres on, so the wheels were surplus to him too :)

Looks miles better.

they are the wheels (and tyres) I did the prague trip on, the car was full of 4 people then ;) my own special lowering technique!

Prefer the white ones myself

I bought it with green/white combo, because it was the rally colours, and I liked the look... never thought about green/black until I saw it in the flesh... then I changed my mind ;)

yup, the Z1's rock on a hot summer day, they are not going on until maybe weston at the end of march though, especially going on all the ice we went through to Edinburgh on Saturday! :o

Who would have thought sideways in a FWD DSG car was such good fun??

Green & black FTW!

What are you doing with the old white wheels?

keeping them, they have my winters on at the moment.... they are a bit battered and curbed, so will do well for winter :)

Don't like the black alloys one bit, sorry. Plain silver all the way for me. Clean and not Halfords looking

all good, thats why all the combo's keep lots of people happy

Black wheels is the only option to help just a tiny bit the vRS look like the "meaner" version of an otherwise boring car. White, I can only see it being nice together with very specific color combos. Silvers I wouldn't drive off the dealers with them on. Boring and dull as *&%$. I'd say your car is around 50% sexier now... lol. Let the color fight begin...

Haha. I made the dealer refurb the black alloys to silver before I bought the vrs. I like to clean my alloys and have them looking nice

Black wheels do nothing for me as IMO you loose all the nice detail of the wheels.

Me, I asked him to swap the black ones of another vRS with my silver/black ones in order to buy it! He said no problem so we had a deal. I wouldn't have it with any other wheels on! I don't know but especially with silvers, it just looks so.... "1.2 TSI - 86PS" :giggle:

Don't quite agree there. What I mean is, if the car is rolling no details are noticed whether silver, black or whatever. If the car is still you need to be quite close to it to notice any details, again no matter the color. But what a black wheel does is that it's being noticed from a far greater distance and it just instantly sends the signal of "something special". That's also the reason that black wheels are usually an option only in sport models and even there, sometimes they are only available in the higher/sportier trim for an extra amount of money as well (lots of examples here).

I really like black wheels as you don't have to keep them so clean.

Every now and then I thoroughly clean them and apply a good coat of wheel wax.

Then it's just a brush over with my pressure washer brush and Bob's your Uncle.

Not to mention on base model cars with steel wheels. :giggle:

Each to their own, but as I say personally they are not for me, I like to be able see the detail more easily.

TBH if you are cleaning them and waxing them regularly then it doesn’t matter about the colour, they are still really easy to clean.

Yep, those are even meaner! Shame they weren't an option for the vRS... :giggle:

Looks much better with the black rims, has it been lowered? Looks lower than standard in the pic.

You might need the winters back on soon..... :D

haven't put the summers on yet, still too cold here ;)

the second pic is from the prague trip last sept where we had bought these tires specifically for the trip (on can's wheels) now can has sold his car (with his winters on 16's on it! lol) I have bought his wheels :) it looks lower because of my special variable lowering system.... 4 people and luggage ;)

Fat people lowering ftw
