Which Yeti?

Hmm, all interesting stuff. Hairball, you were lucky to get a showroom model with a sunroof, it seems that I am in a minority wanting the sunroof, no used models whatsoever. I've spent the day calling round and trying to beat the prices down, it's exhausting...........almost considering keeping the Touran.

I've been looking at the images for the revised and updated Yeti and I definitely prefer it as is. I would prefer a same coloured bumper though, makes it look more like an enlarged and puffed out early Renault 4, my first car, this is what I find attractive about it, it's got something a lot of other cars don't have shape wise.

Has anyone managed to get a significant reduction on a new one?

Please note, and this has been covered many times here, all the pictures so far published have been Photoshop IDEAS, and nothing more than that.

My experience (& this is within the last 2 weeks) 7-8 % reduction (if you're isolating new car price - expect to accept book trade in at this price or sell privately).

Phoning around is not always that productive - it's far better to be sat in front of someone with a pen in your hand. It's all down to whether dealer has to sell one more car to meet targets - some will deal, some won't - don't take it personally.

Have a look at drivethedeal. They're offering about 11% off.

I bought my first Yeti from them without problems.

Hi I'm new and just trying to get some advice about the Yeti and whether or not to get one.

Presently driving a VW Touran, need an automatic, petrol, spare tyre, was hoping for sunroof but think this won't be possible unless buying new, which I don't think I'll be doing.

Was hoping to find out how much they cost to fill up and best place to buy?

There seem to be a number of models and it's a bit confusing. The previous thread is really useful

Any info. appreciated.

Now just test driven one and really like it, think the SE plus 1.2 TDI 105PS DSG would be the one?

Gillycat - just to add to general comments about the Yeti; one thing you will find (as we did when we made this same change) is the boot space is significantly smaller. However, if you are like us and travel with an empty (or near empty) boot most of the time this is not a problem; when you need the extra space a roof box does - I would recommend a Kamei Delphin (the full width shorter type so there is no significant overhang front/back). Also the Yeti is as car like and easy to drive as the Touran but with the added bonus of (IMHO) of being more manouverable. All the best with your change.

Hi DC

Well funnily enough the Yeti I test drove was parked next to my Touran and I was comparing the boots and they did appear to be fairly similar so I had better take another look as a roof box wouldn't be any good for me. My boot is usually full as I travel about with a spare tyre!

Thanks for the alert.

Hi GC - No prob - should add that depending on how big your rear seat passengers are, you can gain some extra boot space by moving the outer rear seats forward and removing the centre one. Doesn't affect me now as my two are teenagers and don't need as much clutter (or at least what they do need is miniaturised e.g. PSP, Nintendo etc) but we still need a roofbox when going on our Alpine travels :giggle:

I would guestimate that the average price here in Germany is at least 4-5k more than in uk fkr most mainstream cars.

thankfully I can buy taxfree and save a blinking fortune !! lol

Hi All

Now sold my Touran and so quite desperate. Hoping to secure a deal today. I've chosen the model 1.2 TSI DSG SE Plus

and the spec. The dealer doesn't have this car to test drive, only a diesel auto or a petrol manual but not the petrol auto I want to buy, will this make a big difference? Also can a larger dealership get the vehicle any quicker than a smaller one?

Believe dealerships are allocated quota's of certain models and if they have sold all theirs for a given period, then delivery can take longer.

Might be worth a call to Lee at Preston Motors; frequents the forum regularly and is always helpful.

Lee has been fantastically helpful and gave me a great offer, but my local dealerships have matched this (I live 200 miles away from Lee) so will go locally. But would recommend Lee to anyone in the London or Greater London area, he's given good advice and a great deal.
