Headlight Washer Cover

Featured Replies

I have just noticed this morning that the passenger side cover for the Headlight washer is missing.

I washed the windscreen last night and the headlights got a wash also so it must of come off then.

Is it possible to get just the cover and if so, does any one happen to know a part number for it and also what about the colour, do you have to have it colour coded yourself or can it be ordered in the correct colour.

Also, a good place to get one from.

I have also pulled the drivers side one off as I was looking to see how they fit so how on earth do you get them back on seeing as they only appear to be a push fit.

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice on this matter.

Mike.

Try eBay, part no pre facelift is 1Z0 955 109

Drivers is 1Z0 955 110

Pull the washer out to clip them on.

They do come unpainted.

Just looked on ebay but nothing on there so looks like a dealer then.

When you say pull the washer out, do you just get hold of the jet unit and pull it out of the bumper, just don't want to do any more damage?

Good news

I lost one of my headlight washer covers but was pleasantly surprised to find out that they only cost about £7 from my local Skoda dealer. (Robert Eardley - Stoke) Bizarrely some are currently listed on flea bay at £9.29.

Either of these would need painting to your colour. Skoda can paint them for you but far too expensive. I bought correct colour spray can, undercoated and then sprayed. Take your time - job done.

Getting them off is probably easier with two people. One person will need to operate the washer switch whilst the other catches the washer as it comes out and pull off the press fit cover. I managed this by myself by opening the car windows. I tied some long thin cord around the wiper stalk, then rigging up a pulley from the back of the B pillar and then to the front of the car. This enabled me to GENTLY pull on the cord to operate the washer and hence pull off the cover.

Convoluted but it worked. Two people would make it much easier. You may have the advantage of having friends!

I got mine from a Skoda dealer on eBay.

I used an alan key as a hook to pull the washer out, you are fighting against a spring.

Don't suppose you have a link or a web address / email for them do you as my "local" dealer is about 25 miles away so would be cheaper to do it online and pay the postage.

Thanks guys.

As usual, everyone on here is very helpfull and I don't know what I would do with out the help apart from spend alot of money in the dealers lol

Thanks very much Grizzle.

I will have a look outside work when I go in later, as that is where I washed the screen, so may be on the floor there (hopefully) and not squashed other wise will order one and spray it up as I already have a couple of tins of spray paint at home.

Just re-fitted my drivers side cover, the one I pulled off to see how they fit, and used the allen key method as mentioned by UglyVrs and it worked a treat as long as I have put it back on correctly and so don't end up loseing that one the first time the headlight washers work lol

I just replaced the passenger side cover on my 2005 Octavia. Used partsgateway.com initially but the best quote I got was 40 quid. An ebay search ended up in me getting one in the right colour for 20.

To fit, you need to pull the washer out of the bumper as its spring loaded, then simply clip the cover on. Nice and easy :-)
