Torque Wrench @ Lidl <

Featured Replies

Popped in to Lidl today and they had a torque wrench on offer for under £20. I think it was closer to £15 actually. I bought one as I was going to buy one from Halfords for £80!

Just a heads up.

£15.99, and for the price you can't beat it. Got one myself, comes with an extension and 17, 19 and 21mm sockets

I think I read on another forum that it's a rebranded CK tools wrench but not sure if there's any merit to that. Even so, it's a robust wrench and great value for money IMO.

Yeh I saw that. Looks good for the money.

If it is rebranded CK tools then from my own experience that can only be a good thing.

Had a very handy little CK Tools toolkit for about 7 years now. Very handy and very robust. It has been used for all sorts and gets used nearly daily around the house or working on the car.

Very similar if not identical to the one I bought from Aldi some months ago. It's a useful length for coping with wheel bolts.

I got one a few years back. Does the job. Don't know if you could earn a living with though. But at that price I wouldn't expect to.

Yeah. For the times I need one it should be suffice. I've just unwrapped it - now need an excuse to use it!

^^^ I have the same one, it is ample for what I need it for and for the money is a good tool instead of using the FT method of tightening bolts/nuts.

I bought one the kadt time they were in stock, decent enough quality too.

I have been trying desperately to get a set of their ratchet scanners, cent get them in any of the stores about me!

I aint ****in made of money :D PM'd

Had a TW for years so I'm not able to take advantage of such a good deal - can't remember how much it was but it was loads more than £16 :@

On the plus side there seems to be loads of tools available now that are good enough for DIY use but at bargain prices at places like Aldi and if you slip em in the trolly SWMBO might not notice!. Aldi's cycling clothing is good too for the money- just need to remember the german's tend to be a bit bigger!

Tbh I've found some cheaper Torque wrenches better than the more expensive one's. I had myself a £200+ Snap on Torque wrench which was around 8 months old, tool bloke dropped in our work and offered to check the calibration of mine and my colleagues wrenches. Mine was miles out compared to my mates 8 year old Sykes Pickavant which had been abused and even dropped and left set to torque settings and only cost him £50 and was spot on.

I've got one of the Lidl ones too. Had it about 5yr and just use it on wheel bolts really. Would also be good for intimidating road ragers.

I've got a Lidl extendable wheel brace in the boot for such occasions.
