Remap grip

Featured Replies

I have a diesel 2011 vrs octy that I want to remap.will the improved power delivery help my grip because if I floor it in 2nd traction control takes over flashing like an oap with elastic bands around his cut off trousers?

No, if anything it'll make it worse as the car will have more torque.

I found better tyres help, usually something premium like a Michelin

Welcome to the forum.

Unlikely if the same tyres are fitted and your throttle use means more power is being delivered than is really required & means that the adhesion/traction of the tyres to the surface is not great.

You could just try driving in a way that will deliver the power delivery required for the conditions or situation you are in and where you get it wrong the TC helps you out.

There might be those out there that do 'de-tuning remaps'!

Welcome.

As mentioned tyres have a big factor but I did find putting a strut brace on helped when the tyres started bouncing under launch.

it is possible to remap for fuel efficiency and limit the torque delivery. would cost you about £500 and is completely reversible

other option is: don't "floor it in 2nd", save over 400 pounds and treat your partner to something unexpected. It's a win-win situation, really!!

Wait till its in third before reallu hammering it if its a greasy rd.

Cheers people I thought as much it's fine when I floor it in third, tbh weather has not been the best I spin up easily in second even when mildly moist,I will see what the summer brings?
