Nos

Featured Replies

been looking on the wizards of nos site and like the look of it, but what kit is needed?? normal or direct port system and what exactly is the water injection system?

As I understand it the water injection system would be used to inject water into the inlet to reduce the temperature of the air before it enters the cylinders. [The evaporation of the water would remove a significant amount of energy (i.e. heat) from the air] This cooler air has a greater density (i.e. more oxygen per unit volume) and will allow more fuel to be combusted giving a higher power output :) .

unfortunately I have no idea about which of the nos systems would be required.

I had a WON Nitrous System fitted by JBS on my old Polo GTi... I loved it!

I wouldn't bother with direct injection... The standard Cross Fire Injector works fine.

I wouldn't entertain any other nitrous system by the way... The Wizards of NOS kit is the best available imho.

Water Injection allows you to use more timing iirc... Aquamist are probably the best for this though.

If memory serves your best with a 'wet' kit for a turbo and a 'dry' kit for NA. With this sort of thing I would think your much better off speaking to the 'experts' themselves who will guide you to the best kit for your car.

Word of warning though. Insurers wil more than likely take a dim view of NOS fitting and even if they don't, they will take into account the TOTAL BHP of the car as if it were running on full injection ALL the time (when in reality your looking at 10 second bursts). Damn them to hell imo :finger:
