misfire?

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

My fabia seems to have a misfire when under 2k rpm.

I've got some injector cleaner in the tank right now and i'm hoping its not the injectors themself...

Is there any kind of known problem for this?

thanks.

nothing? :(

The wireing in the injectirs that is inside the ricker cover is 1 off the main problems

I wonder if that's also my problem. When warm my Y reg Fabia Comfort won't always start first time but on a second turn of the key and when ideling she misses. We have tried spark plug change to no effect could this be the injectors I too have done the injector cleaner.

I think that the OP and the only poster before you were discussing PDI engines not petrol engines.

If yours has a single coilpack then try changing the plug leads, they won't have aged well, neither will the coilpack tbh.

Its the single coil pack. I didn't think it had plug leads as it goes straight onto the plugs. But thanks for the thought sounds like a new coil pack is going to be the answer

If it is a Coil On Plug (COP) system, then any misfiring should be getting logged, so if you get a fault code reader, even a cheap one from somewhere like Gendan, then it would let you know if it was a coil issue and which one.

OK friendly mechanic has one and he tends to do things for me without it costing me so have a word with him and hope that gives us the answer we want.

What was the problem and is it cured now?

If its COP, you can have the engine running and unplug each coilpack in turn, the engine note should change obviously because it wont fire on 'that' cylinder with 'that' coilpack unplugged, if the note doesnt change you have a coilpack or wiring issue.

BLT Engines have a known stutter? Maybe he means this?
