Did you get sorted with the anti roll bar and get out on track at the weekend?

So.... Feel like having a little bit of a rant, regarding the "identity" of modified cars. TRAX is dubbed a performance car show, and for that reason, is the only car show I have attended for a long time. The lack of cars modified for "performance" was frankly depressing... I can appreciate the work that goes into a stanced car, but it is not my thing even remotely, so a car show that claims to not be about that, but then litters every stand with exactly that kind of car, is frankly, stupid.

To make things worse, I had booked track time prior to going, but the front roll bar developed a horrific knock en route, and with no tools to hand, I couldn't even disconnect it to get on track. The fact that I couldn't even give the track slot away, summed up the majority of attendees.

In the short term I am chatting with whiteline about possible causes. I have also finally decided to order a tyrolsport front subframe deadset kit. Aside from bracing, the chassis of the car will be complete. I have a return trip to the Nurburgring booked for the 10th of October, and a trackday at Donington booked with the guys from trackaddict on instagram.

I have 95% of the parts stockpiled for the k04 conversion, and will be looking to get this on before Donington at the latest.

Unfortunately that's the "scene" at the moment... every motor is stanced / dubbed / etc. You only need to look through car magazines like Fast Car to see that it's spread like a virus - even rally-bred cars (such a Scoobies) are being 'bagged, put on 20's and smoothed out.

 

It's either a case of people running out of new ideas, or they're just too lazy and copy the "trends." It's one of the reasons I've gone bat**** mental with my car...

 

 

Unfortunately Generation Z, with their "hipster yolo swagger" and top-knot haircuts seem to be a bunch of boring sheep, more concerned with iPhone apps and such nonsense.

 

Just keep doing what you're doing - extreme modders will be victorious!

Love this car....what I would try and do if I had the money and the skills.

To allow more air flow through the rad pack, I intend to box it all in when I redesign the front splitter, and may just cut that whole section of bumper out.

Totally agree about the scene, people buying fast cars and then making them undriveable just doesn't appeal to me which is why I've not been to a show in 3 years. When someone does something different like yourself though the band wagon jumpers are out in force slagging it off for being different. I personally love what you've done with this though mate its a refreshing change.

Long and short. The subframe is knocking its head off. Brought a tyrolsport subframe kit to rectify... And stripped the thread out of the body for the outer console bolt.... Its an 18mm... Its important.... PITA
