Another L&K ordered

Featured Replies

Well after much deliberation as to wait on facelift or to change now, I ordered a candy white 1.8 Tsi L&K today.

Options ticked, we're TPM, MDI, RRP, spare wheel and a 5 year warranty.

From my side, congratulations!! I'm looking forward to seeing one soon.

Welcome to the L&K club.

And well done too from another founder member of the L&K club! Any proposed date for delivery of yours? I too am waiting for a 1.8TSi (ordered 30 Jan, expected end April/beginning May) and it seems diesels may be coming through a bit more quickly.

Was told probably June, but would be confirm once order had went into system.

June would seem to fit with a similar timescale to mine, then.

Do they make RH drive cars as a batch? It would make sense to do a batch build, load a train etc. but the manufacturers ability to make any variant one after another might enable them to build for all types. Anyone know?

The video that was posted some time ago had left and right hand drives mixed up.

Been in the same quandary for a while too, and also took the plunge yesterday and ordered a 2.0 Tdi 170 L&K (options ticked :- steel grey metallic paint, spare wheel, towbar, 5 year warranty & mudflaps).

Since we ordered the same day, it will be interesting to see how the delivery timescales differ.

Yeah, will be interesting to see if there is any difference between petrol and diesel delivery times.

and manual / dsg

My dealer suggested (though I think without any hard evidence) that diesels are now coming through more quickly than petrols and DSGs more quickly than manuals - so my manual petrol should be the slowest of the lot!

Hi Andrew

I realise my 1.2se manual is not a L&K, but it is now sat in the dealers yard awaiting my private plate change so hopefully should get it inside a few days.

It was ordered on Jan 11th with quite a few extras (heated screen, esc package, spare wheel) so obviously not a stock model.

I consider my wait has not been too long and hopefully yours will be as quick.

Hope this cheers you up

Y'know, all this excitement about vee-hickles ordered, chosen upgrades, delivery times is so reminiscent of that time, three years ago when so many awaited their first chosen Yeti.

I think they call it déjà-vu, although this IS real!!

Hope it comes together as soon as possible for you guys.

I'm not too downhearted - after all, I waited about 26 weeks for my current Yeti, so a probable 14-16 weeks this time won't seem too bad (about a third of the way there already).

Interesting, when I ordered ours the thought was that the dsg might add some extra time.

It's déjà-vu, all over again!

See my post in delivery delay thread. For me, (SE with an unusual list of extras) it's possibly looking like 5 week lead to build - possibly as little as 8 weeks to delivery, fingers crossed ????????????!!!!!???

My layman's logic / uneducated guess / toally unqualified opinion / don't really have a scooby's, is that the factory, in the words of the crazy Icelandic imp, is "oh so quiet".

Individual options, such as magic gear selection pixies, won't necessarily have much of a bearing, although you can never discount a teensy weensy back-log where particular option choices (L&K spec?) have exceeded all possible expectations.
