Vrs Spring Color Codes - help

Featured Replies

Can someone help?

Bought a set of springs off fleabay. Due to color codes, confirmed with seller that fitment was Mk1 Octy Vrs.

They came in an Eibach box for a 1Z Octy mk2. So appears someone upgraded.

Color Code Spots are:

Fronts: Red.Red,Red, Lilac?

Rears: Blue,Yellow

Can someone confirm these are Mk1 or Mk2 Octy VRs springs?

Thanks

Stef

I have had this on here if they are eibachs apparently they are not meant for the vrs but work v well

I think I was watching them was gonna bid on them but got distracted and forgot!! Did the auction finish on Sunday? 4 springs? If its the same ones the seller told me they were called pro kit but the only spring I could find with that name was eibach. He never mentioned eibach though that kind of put me off as I don't think they make springs for the vrs.

So are these supposed to be standard Mk1 Octavia vRS springs? You didnt make that quite clear.

If they were the same ones I was watching he told me they weren't lowering springs the car would be standard height but then said they were called pro kit. I thought they were vag springs that's what I asked.

My car is a mk1 vrs 05' model with std springs / suspension, I did a visual check when i first got the car.

Front springs coded thus..........1 violet spot / 4 yellow spots

Rear springs coded thus............1 silver spot / 3 blue spots

Yes goonybird they are the springs I was watching. You got a bargain there buddy!!. Probably the best thing to do is take an old rear spring off and compare them. Like I mentioned before he told me they were pro kit springs? That they wouldn't lower the car at all that's what I wanted just to keep it standard. I was travelling back from Edinburgh when they finished I was gonna have them myself!!

How did it go with these springs?

Apparently fitting the eibach pro kit which is meant for standard octy not vrs will lower the vrs around 15 mm

I have been reliably informed that they lower the standard octy 35 mm the vrs sits 20 mm ish lower than standard octy therefore 15 mm on vrs

They work well though

I'm looking into some options for suspension upgrades the h&r springs seem to get mentioned a lot. That's why I was watching the springs mentioned here on eBay. So has can anyone confirm if the eibach springs are any good for the vrs? I do know they aren't actually listed for the vrs.

I'm running them and they work nicely

Ah that's how you know!! Has yours just got the springs with standard dampers or have you replaced all the parts?

Standard dampers works a treat with rarb

Some options for the Octavia are expensive. I don't want to spend loads on it now the car isn't worth too much. Would like it riding nice though but I don't think I could stand coil overs being honest. So has your car gone low enough for you with eibachs?

Yeah low enough for me as I tow occasionally and work down a road with the worlds biggest speed humps don't have picks to hand but if you pm me your email I can send you one

Yeah I will do be good for some ideas. I don't want a massive drop just want good handling but comfy also its a family car.

Don't rule out coilovers, I've got Weitec's on mine which aren't much lower than standard and the ride is just right without any crashingness. The ride is more like audi sports suspension from the factory if you know what I mean

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

Aye they do sound good I have looked at these.. then seen the price!! I'm trying to do it in such a way I don't actually end up divorced!

Got mine second hand for £250, they were like new lol. Think they were cheaper than buying new springs and shocks lok

This turned out bad.

Finally with good weather managed to remove broken front n/s spring. Was broken at the top and the bottom!

these springs are nothing like Octavia mark 1 vrs springs. too late to complain to seller. so not happy. :wall:

Looks like eurocar parts sachs springs are best bet as something now needed fast as car still on jacks.

Can anyone identify them so I can resell?

thanks

Looks as if you have bought MK2 Octy springs, if the box was marked up 1Z Octavia, the springs in the E-bay ad look different to the springs I have just sold, here is picture of the set I just sold

Hope this helps.

You should really take issue with the seller about this goonybird. He's been really dishonest and I would be threatening with neg feedbacks and all kinds of nasties. Like i mentioned before I watched these springs asked loads of questions he told me also they were off a mk1 Octavia. Its annoying when the car is in bits and the new parts don't fit. The blokes feedback was really good too just shows how many things can go wrong buying off e bay.

Hi Thanks

Bought a pair of Sachs springs off eurocarparts as need urgently. About £90 the pair so not too bad.

Messaged seller but no response and can't do anything as too late. Already left good feedback after the final confirmation from the seller said these were deffo mk1 vrs.

I need to identify exactly what they are so I can resell.

Did you make your paypal payment via your credit card?

If so, THEY will get your money back instantly, and then Paypal/Ebay will be forced to act upon the seller.

If not, may I suggest in future you attempt to make every payment via credit card to paypal, and not from paypal balance, or bank transfer. Your bank MAY be willing to help out, but credit card companies will, for sure.
