I will make every effort to ensure it is Skoda only! But I need to co-operation of all members to not go up early, or if they do go early INSIST to any marshall trying to put them on with other rando

I will go Jase, but not on track this time, I will fetch the Yeti for a day out as Hairball was the lonely Yeti today.

New rocker cover gasket will sort you out.

I hope so. It was only new on a couple of weeks ago when i swapped the rocker cover over but it obviously didn't like todays session. I'm a bit concerned about driving from Bristol to Surrey tomorrow with oil leaking out, so may have to hitch a lift with the AA, unless they can change the gasket for me.

My ipad isn't playing ball with copy and paste. Could someone kindly add me to the list please

Would be good to have 30 Skodas doing 2 sessions, but I don't want to exclude those that want to do just one session, so will try and figure out how to price things when I speak to Combe.

After yesterday do you think 15 minutes is enough to let the cars cool down a bit?

It may be better to spread them out a bit more, give the cars a better rest and the drivers too.

Plus fills up the day better and allows some time to check any small issues.

Just a thought. :)

If I have a car that I can take out on track then I will definitely be interested in coming out on a session!

sessions one hour apart should allow 30 minutes to 45 minutes for cool down. I like to think it more about not having to warm up again. :)

nothing to see here....

ill be up for this :)

Thread is open for booking chaps. ;)

Two sessions for £51 all-in, plus 1 ticket.

  • 3 weeks later...

So this is Skoda Exclusive, 30 cars per session and CC will not be making up the numbers with random numpties?

I am a tad apprehensive about CC having read about the last time you chaps went there...

THat's why Jason has specifically said we need to go up there together.

The problem last time was some people going early... so the session got split up.

So it is not organised in a similar fashin like HowFast? where you arrive in dribs and drabs ahead of time, then get briefed, go around the track (I'd need that as I never been there and CC has car killer reputation :( ) and then have the 15 mins session?

Or is it like a sussage factory where whoever is at the gate with the valid ticket will get through? and it goeas like that non-stop all day?

Sorry for the barrage of questions but I really want to have as much info as possbile from people who've done it alredy before I commit.

Thanks :)

It can be a bit chaotic, especially if it's your first time!

But basically, and what I've done the past 2 times is brief when I get there (they run throughout the day ever half hour).

Then sound check as and when.

Then we should wait for Jason, then all go as a group and do the track session together, everyones happy :)

It's a show day with track session.

So we all turn up at random times in the morning and park on the Briskoda club stand.

Then leave there and go to the track session together.

The briefing can be done anytime and they do them every 20 minutes through the day.

OK, I think I am getting the picture. I must admit I loived the realxed atmosphere of HowFast? at Bedford, it was a perfect track session for me, exactly how I'd imagined it and wouldn't change absolutely anything. I understand now that CC is nothing like that. I am getting a feeling of a very crowded place, where everything happens fast and rather furious and you heve to make your slot and be rather disciplined. I do like the sound of the show day where there is more time at the venue, you can walk about, hve more time to chat with people and look at some sticker bombed beauties ;)

I found going to get the sound checking done as soon as i turned up to be better than waiting and would probably be more benefical this time with the earlier track times.

The last time was caused by some misunderstandings because the session had been delayed due to an accident and word had gone round that the session was going to be at 14:30 and not 14:00 but then when i spoke to Jason, he said 14:50, so i hung around waiting for Jason to move. I still nearly didn't make it on the session as i was blocked in by an Astra and Puma fighting to get onto a session but thankfully i was spotted and allowed through.

I will make every effort to ensure it is Skoda only! But I need to co-operation of all members to not go up early, or if they do go early INSIST to any marshall trying to put them on with other randoms, that we have our own two sessions booked. Should be easier this year especially as I have an invoice from Combe with the charge for the two dedicated sessions, so everyone should be well aware.

It should also be easier being earlier, so less chance of any accidents, hopefully. ;)

I have to say, despite Castle Combe's reputation the Briskoda sessions (when full of Briskoda folk) are as safe as you can get!

My first one was good although coming up to the first chicane seeing another Fabia facing me was a bit unnerving. Can't remember who it was was but they'd missed the chicane and tried to turn around. My first one was the best as there wasn't much of a delay and a full 15 mins.

I think i've seen the video of that on YouTube but can't remember who it was.
