Help! P1296 fault code

Featured Replies

Hi i have recently purchased a silver octavia vrs mk1 em light popped up on me! Had i checked came up with code p1296 coolant system maulfunction. Changed coolant sender/temp sensor and it has just come back on. Not sure wats next? Has anybody had this or know the cure? Please help as its niggling at me

If it comes back on almost immediately, then it's probably the wiring or connector.

Thanks for reply came on bout 80miles later

Would be better in the Octsvia section, sure a mod will move it for you.

Does car get to temp ok? How is the temp guage behaving? Did you get a genuine or pattern part?

The other possible issue will be your thermostat as that can cause the same fault code to pop up.

Hi have reposted in octavia section. Seem the heaters take a while to warm up. The hottest it has been is 90 after sitting in traffic. And yes was genuine part.

Def get thermostat changed, mine is doing the exact same thing. Local skoda quoted 26 quid for stat and o ring seal.
