61 plate vrs feeler

Featured Replies

I'm looking at getting rid of my 61 plate fabia vrs

It's in solid corrida red with black pack and black roof.

Wheels are 17" chrome gigaro alloys

Has Bluetooth

MDI in as standard

DSG auto 7 box

Multi function steering wheel

Was bought showroom condition and is kept that way as it lives in a garage and was used only a few times a week.

No marks, scratches, dints, blemishes, kerbing etc

Car could be left at stage 1 remapped or put back to stock as I have a switch to turn on or off.

Still in manufacturer warrenty

7400miles

First service done by Skoda

Was pre registered so I'm second owner

Autoglym life shine

Hopefully transferable GAP insurance up to value £15750

New job forces very reluctant sale and purchase of Monte Carlo tdi

£12250 I will be looking if I get interest, Cumbria area

yea love it seboni but new job means travelling and mpg has to be looked at carefully! :(

Do you really need to sell? If you manage to sell at £12250 that will be a very good price and I hope you get it. But do consider what the actual cost of ownership will be overall including all depreciation. If I recall you now have a daily commute of around 100 miles, which I agree if you switch to a diesel will see quite a saving on fuel costs. However if you take a hit on the vRS to move it on, then consider what a Monte will be worth in two to three years time with something like 60 to 75 k miles on it, and you may find that there is very little difference in overall cost than if you just kept the vRS and take the hit on the fuel costs.

From a personal point of view I have just been through a very similar process (same daily commute) and I decided it just wasn't worth it. Mind you my circumstances may be different in that I own my car outright and it had already done 31000 unlike yours at 7400. When I considered p/x for something else and found my residual value not to be as good as I hoped :( I decided to just keep the vRS for a couple more years and run it into the ground as I just can't live without the acceleration.

And remember, you bought a vRS for a reason, and I am sure you will drive the Monte in a similar vain, so fuel economy will be nothing like that posted by Skoda.

My commute is 50miles round trip, I know what your saying but I did a very simple spreadsheet last night with - fuel cost, tax, insurance etc and the potential saving was phenomenal. But because I'm on a pcp thought it would be very easy to change, which I'm finding not to be now as the trade in value of mine is now lower than a few weeks back. It's a tough call but I have to consider monthly fuel cost :-(

You might want to put what kind of vRS it is in your first post, and the thread title....
