Cheap mods that make a difference

Featured Replies

For the dogbone mod if you are really tight then a couple of big washers under the nut pulls it tighter and makes it stiffer!! Oh Er missus

Pics would be good if its not a pain. Might buy an arch as they are quite cheap.

see link in post #13

Be careful with the poly dog bone mount bush it will vibrate the car at idle mine has one not sure which its pants i hate it, i think the diesel engine version is best not so harsh , Try a b&q metal house wall vent for the arch only £5 just trim the edges drill 4 extra holes spray black silicone sealer and some rivets just as good as the tt vent took me 30mins to do start to finish .

Lower engine/gearbox mount. It looks a bit like a dog bone:

Hey rob are those yellow bushes the softer diesel ones im sure mine are power flex and are purple.

I thought diesel ones were red? Mine are the standard petrol ones. No issues with vibration and nice and stiff on gear changes. I didn't change the round insert bush though, that's still stock.

I will have to have a look underneath and see what colour mine is its very harsh at idle not good when ive got a stiff back from playing rugby.

The standard power flex is yellow. Dunno if they even do a diesel one. I know super pro do.

Powerflex diesel is red.

When you say new dogbone, you you mean a whole new unit or just replace the bushes?

Just the bush. Unless you can find someone selling the whole thing

Just buy a set of superpro bushs and fit them to your original dogbone there piece of pi55 to change
