Doors sills?

Featured Replies

Does anyone think the superbs sills are quite high? every time i get out the car i hit my foot off the sill, as does my passengers and the back ones always knock the door reflector on the bottom off and i have to keep clipping them back on but today i just pulled them off and stuck them i the boot, less hassle. Does anyone else think they sit quite high

Not me but could it have anything to do with the height of the front seats (I know that will not help for the back ones). I have had my car for nearly one year and 12k miles and not had a problem nor have my passengers.

well i came from a 57 plate octavia (old shape a4) and you just put your feet out and walked off , but in the superb you have to move our feet over the sills and many of my passengers hit there feet too (its a taxi) and some of them knock the reflector off the back doors as well but i took them off, but one of the other taxi drivers as a toyota avensis (60 plate) and his main problem is people 6 foot and over bang there head off the roof when getting in

Is the sill height and depth on the Superb a byproduct of side-impact crash-testing (NCAP performance?), or an easy

(and cheap) way of providing chassis stiffness without adding weight? I agree, the sills are too big. The Superb mk1

was much better in that respect.

I'll put up with it, if it'll save me in a crash

You can also drive through deeper water this summer.
