hi all i have just got a forge split r for 50 quid (result i thought its in good nick) and as far as i can work out you turn the top fully anticlock then fit it, start the engine from cold and then turn the top clockwise untill the valve stops clicking. The trouble is vac hose it clamped to the top and will only twist so much so do i have to keep taking the vac pipe on and off till it stops makeing nosies. Seems a bit of a silly way to do it is the right way or is there an easier one.

Can you not just leave the clip off the vac pipe and rotate the adjuster with the pipe still attached?
