Please Help - Need to disable ABS on a 1999 Octavia TDI

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone :) Basically I my ABS has been kicking in all the time, So I read the codes and it come up from drivers side sensor. I had this replaced as I was going away for a week, and needed car to do a lot of miles :) Now I am away and the problem has come back, the ABS is kicking in lots and lots of time and making the car unsafe to drive. Is there a way I can disable the ABS? just until I get home and can investigate the cause further ( Suspect ABS ring) I have VAG-COM On an old Rover I stopped it temp by removing fuse for the ABS pump...

Thanks

Jon

It might be possible to disable the ABS by pulling a fuse. I don't know which fuse and you do so at your own risk.

On the fuseholder above the battery, you need to pull the two green fuses that are furthest away from the bolt down fuses.

What will that disable the pump?? Also just been and read all my codes, for ABS module and engine... Not getting no fault codes at all. Before the sensor was replaced it was just fault codes associated with that sensor.... What happens now is, the brakes work ok, but as I am about to stop the abs kicks in say from 15mph and below just as I am stopping.

Thanks

Yes, it will completely disable the ABS. One fuse feeds the pump and the other feeds the valves.
