Tyre choice...

Featured Replies

I've narrowed down my choice of tyres to two but I'm now stuck and looking for your ratings on the two...

I'm buying 4 so I want to make sure they are right...

Mostly motorway with weekly lane driving ;)

Choices are:

1. Yokohama Prada 2

2. Maxxis MA Z1

Any comments welcome.

Rainsport 2's ;)

But of your 2... Yoko's for me

Yokos, not least because Maxxis are popular with drifters.

Z1's!!!! they rock, trust me, you would eat rainsports evil ;)

ken, there is a special "drift" version of the Z1, with colours added ect ect , built just to drift, costs WAAAY more than the standard Z1 too (£120+ instead of £70 ish ) , its specifically designed for them , and called teh Z1 "drift" .. totally different to the road tyre.. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5d371f4d3b read the blurb..

this is the road tyre :)

edit: damo (evil) , I was gripping better than the mongrel round the ring with my Z1's.. he had the parada 2's on .... and in the rain they go off (read one of jasons track reveiws in the rain ! :o ) the maxxis are good in the rain too ;)

edit: those massive shoulder blocks that give such brilliant dry weather handling make them noisey... be warned! (your wheel bearings are fine! lol)

I didn't know that, but it just goes to show how marketting can backfire, esp if you use an activity as {censored} stupid as drifting for marketting.

they also have their own race series in malaysia... so you can expect racing tech to be employed... silica compounds, structure ect ...

I agree with the way it may come accross with the drifting lol.... (something i wouldn't watch as a motorsport either ;) )
