Anyone else had poor service from the RAC recently?

Waited 10 mins to speak to RAC about a flat battery and a non-starter. Was told 2 hour wait. This was on a bright sunny week day 2 weeks ago at 4pm, 3 miles from a town centre. It then took another 10 minutes to cancel the call. I called a friend who came over 10 miles with some jump leads.

I've used them twice in the last 2 years, both at home. First one the Clio wouldn't start and they were here within 15 minutes and found the problem quickly (TDC sensor connection) the second time to tow SHMBO Seat to the garage after the suspension collapsed. They quoted they'd turn up in between 2 and 4 hrs which I was happy with as we were not stranded or waiting to go anywhere and arrived in under the 2 hrs and towed us away so I've been impressed with the service I've had- guess you caught them at a busy time, which would probably have been the case which ever breakdown service you rang apart from your mate...!

OTOH I've had Britannia turn out for an HGF before I'd finished calling their call centre (Ok, I was lucky that the local franchisee was in the filling station refuelling a flatbed but still it speaks volumes for their customer service that I could pass the phone to the franchisee and and the call centre op I was already talking to just handled it).
