Need a new printer - suggestions please **now sorted**

Featured Replies

...Work has loads of old HP Laserjet 4 mono duplex printers lying around due a new Xerox contract. Due to feckin WEEE they can't even sell me one. They're big bricks of printers but they last forever.

I have a 4M+ at home. It never goes wrong and good quality aftermarket toner cartridges are less than £15 delivered for the high capacity version.

Providing the printers are sold working, then WEEE shouldn't be an issue

As a side note....compatible cartridges

Never had a problem over 5 different printers with compatible cartridges....cheap and good service as well

Cheers, that's another supplier to add to the list :)

Another one for a cheap bw laser printer. I'm on my second toner cartridge after 5 years. I hated the inkjet I used to have always cleaning it's heads!

XP-305 set up and working, straight forward set up, good quality prints and more customisable than I'll ever need, I realise now that I've been living in the dark ages with my old printer :D

Thanks for all the input folk, much appreciated :)

Have you set up wire less printing? Was it easy with the disc?

For cartridges ,consider compatable. And one of the cheapest ,and very quick delivery is http://www.rapid-resolutions.com/. I & my mate were the backbones of a residents association producing a modest 4 page newsletter each month ,so we used a fair bit of ink. Never had problems .At that time he was local and a phone call got delivery an hour or so later . He's moved ,but I've never had to wait more than a day .For photos why not try somewhere like Asda . If you do them in bulk it's cheap .

No, I don't ever see me needing to print from my tablet or phone, if I do though I'll set it up. The wired set up took 3 or 4 minutes typing, ticking this, choosing that and something like 20 minutes waiting for d/l, updating software, initialisation etc, no problems whatsoever
