  • OEM is lighter, cheaper and faster reacting. Why do the others sell ? Simples, word of mouth and Forum legends My car is now running a wee bit more power than stock and is still coping well.

  • +1 for OEM. I have a new (well new in December 2012) standard plastic bosch dv fitted to my track vrs. It was mapped to 1.4bar and it holds just fine (infact in 5th on track yesterday I was hitting

For forge it goes green for standard, yellow is mapped.

Thanks guys. The blue one is already fitted

I fitted mine yesterday and I'm convinced it is leaking as I don't think it seals properly. The blue spring is the stiffest spring. I'm Revo stage 1'd and my gauge says I'm hitting 20 psi, I have the yellow spring and I get more flutter than dump action so going to try the red spring tomorrow which is the weakest one.

I've emailed the company I bought it from to say I believe it's leaking. Thought it was worth a try for £35 rather than spunking over £100 on a genuine Forge valve first off.

Hope this helps,

Matt.

Im getting a stage one map soon (30th) i will try the weakest spring to begin with.

Can anyone confirm which spring does which?

I bought an eBay non brander as well, tried each of the springs but wasn't keen on it, I couldn't hear it 'dump' at all.

Put the standard back on, sticking with that for now

Put the plastic DV back in :)

The noise comes from fitting a decent cone filter and heat shield.

On the forge one green is weakest spring yellow is second red is the stiffest you can also fit the shimms to stiffen each spring a bit more, i have always bought forge dvs i go to shows where they have a trade stand and get a good deal i paid £50 at gti international a few years back for a 007 then did the same for two on my s4 ,i know u you get good after sales with forge as they sent me a service kit free i cant comment on the ebay ones but you get what you pay for ,on the audi SRS forum people swear by the standard 710n dv on the v6 biturbo as a replacement ,as most original dvs are old now and prone to spliting.

I fitted the red spring. Everything seems to be fine and the turbo seems to pack a tiny bit more punch. The old plastic one seemed to be dumping loudly. Certainly louder then when i bought the car anyway. Just got a tiny hiss now the ebay one is on. All is gravy

ebay one is fine not sure what every one is doing lol

yup ebay ones are good, from what i have seen, i am selling a forge too.....

Took mine off this afternoon and out the standard plastic valve back on. Only reason the plastic valve is back on is because when I took the eBay valve apart the rubber seal on the bottom of the piston was missing. I don't know where it went but it was on when I fitted the valve! Put the stand valve on reversed but I think that's also leaking as it squeals a little bit on boost and I don't hit the normal boost. I'll hopefully have a reply from the company I bought it from tomorrow.

thats not good!

What worries me more is where has the seal gone? Think a Forge item will get ordered next week.

You'd be surprised what an engine can ingest and dispose of without any adverse effects. My record so far stands at a supermarket carrier bag into a Mitsubishi 4D56 diesel engine...

i was considering buying one of those cheapo ebay recirc valves for my felicia, but i'm still not sure if its wise judging by the comments above

These were the best thing ever the other week !!!

Aye I know. Think I'll buy one and diassemble it and crack out the mics and get a bit personal with it :)

so what's the word on the street then? buy a ebay one or get a proper forge motorsport one?

If these really are a ching chong meow knock off of a Forge DV, then being a cheap SOB I'll be sticking with the Shenzen Special *IF* it stacks up. There's only so many ways to machine something...

The word on the street a fortnight ago was the ebay ones are perfect lol

that's what i thought i read on here, as v8 dave says above, its basically a block of metal with a hole machined in it. i could probably make one myself tbh..

i'm just being a miser and not wanting to spend out a fortune for one for the felicia.
