new exhaust causing limp mode?

Featured Replies

new to this forum, always get answers from old threads but cant find any1 with my current problem.

i have a 2006 octavia vrs tfsi, just had a custom catback exhaust with silencer removed from zorstec in bradford, very happy with the looks and sounds but it goes into limp mode every now and then, no dashboard lights come on but only revs to 4000 rpm then other times its fine just wondered if any1 had similar problems? going to get vag com on it if i can get hold of it.

cheers for your time

jay

Just a cat back exhaust shouldn't do anything, like you say get it scanned and go from there

cheers trev, it seems to be ok now but itd be nice to know what it was, just did it since i got the exhaust fitted this morning, never done it before, i have a forge dumpvalve spacer n its got really loud since exhaust fit aswell is this normal?

I'd never run one of those spacers, I've heard of a few running issues due to them.

yeh get the original DV back in.

I've had my spacer on since end of last year havent had any problems yet,

There were a few issues like this ojn Mk 1 octys when tuned, the Lamba was being tripped up & needed spacing back slightly to smooth out the reading. It would often happen after the car had cruised gently for a while , say in a long 50 section of roadworks & rthen given a good right foot aplication at the end

This may help http://www.briskoda....er#entry1503734

I used one something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/L-SHAPE-O2-OXYGEN-SENSOR-90-DEGREE-ANGLED-BUNG-M18-X-1-5-SPACER-EXTENDER-/130842801178?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e76d6b41a&vxp=mtr but check it fits your car

Maybe if the op had changed the downpipe, but as its just the cat back it's all downstream from them so should have no affect

Exhaust won't cause this issue unless they have some how damaged rear lamda but I doubt it

Get it scanned
