ebay exhaust pipe trims

Featured Replies

okay, don't laugh, but are these any good?

I drive my mums fabia comfort  but want to make it more sporty (I would have asked her to get the vrs but I didnt pass then) anyways, I just want the car to sound more, vroom vroom :D and cant afford a whole new exhaust kit, so i'll have to make do with one of these trims.

Here's a list of random exhaust trims that say they make the car sound better.

these are literelly bolt ons.... the car will sound the same i think. sure someone will correct me if im wrong.... Halfords sell them...

Skoda sell one as an accessory as well I think.

I just want it for the aesthetics and also the low vroom sound it will make (hopefull).

You won't get any vroom vroom, it's just a tail tip. It will look nice though.

The addition of a small bit of 'Bling' to the back of your mum's pride and joy isn't gonna get you any extra noise except some ear ache from your mum.

They were all the rage on battered up old Metro's and Nova's when I was at college. As my mate used to call them - "Big End". Nuff said :D

Well the cars kinda being passed on to me and I want to make it more masculine :D I need alloys, but those are just way out of my budget at the moment. The speakers are cool, they have quite a lot of bass in them. So basically im just thinking of cheap styling :o

And the main problem is that the actual exhaust pipe on the furby is pointing downwards  n there isnt many exhaust trims that have an angle so that it rectifys the pointing downwards. Also the damn back bumper doesnt have a cut for the exhaust  lol

Have a look in my gallery.... i have trim on (no difference in noise)

nice car fabia 12v... looks a lot different with alloys!

Ah right ok cool. Is that the Skoda exhaust trim? or a aftermarket?

I dunno if I can be bothered to get one now  it isnt really noticable unless its a huge one. But then it'll look really dodgy.

If you want to increase the "vroom", get a Green panel air filter :D Failing that, you can make the exhaust more noisy by drilling a couple of holes in it ;)

Chris

The genuine tail pipe trims are actually blanked off with a hole in the bottom so the std downward tailpipe comes out.

Basically just a fake finisher trim.

Its the official skoda trim

Thanks alot, handles better too

i got a vrs tail pipe bold on same as the vrs but only thing is i havent got round to fitting it cus its twin pipes, currently being modded to be a a "Y" end. but u will need a new bumper trim to fit that one because of the way it pokes out wont get away with any other way inless a personal mod is done to the exhaust :)

correct me if im wrong, but you cant get a green panel filter for a fabia comfort right? I popped the bonnet and had a look, and the only place I can see it going, is this big ass tube with a gaping hole pointing forward, which I guess is the air intake. But it doesnt have a turbo, so its pointless

heres a thought.... green panel for my 1.2!! :D

You can also get K&N panel filters made for the Fabia.

You can get Green filters for all the Fabia range (assuming the 1.2 has the same intake as either the 1.4-16v or 1.4-8v :o ). See here. Why is it pointless changing the air filter if you don't have a turbo

Chris

It isn't pointless. Your engine breathes much more freely with a good filter. The performance gains are pretty minimal, but it's noticable, and the low end grunt is developed too. I would know, i have an N/A car with a panel filter :)

hmmm, ive always thought that all these intake stuff is for the turbo enginges, but guess im wrong.

Are they easy to fit?

Oh yeah, I don't know whether my car is the 1.4-16v or 1.4-8v. Im pretty sure its the 8v but how do I find out? I looked at the engine, n it says something like 1.4 MPI. No idea what the MPI stands for.

With a panel filter, all you do is remove the stock air filter from the air box and replace it with the new one. Straight swap really. If yours says 1.4MPi I believe you have the 8V...the 16V says 1.4 16V on the rear badge...MPi stands for multi-point injection.
