How many child seats fit in a Superb?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Having major motoring issues, baby no.3 is on route so my Fabia vRS has to go. I never gave it a second thought as I automatically assumed I'd fit 3 car seats in my Octy vRS no problem, how wrong was I?

Has anyone got 3 child seats in a Superb? I'll have 2 high back boosters and a group 1,2,3 going into a car, I've been searching online all weekend and it seems the only 'cars' that manage it are Galaxy's, S-Maxs, Alhambras etc. The only proper car that I've found to take 3 full size kids seats is a Merc E Class, no thanks.

The Superb would be my much preferred choice with me being a Skoda man, however I seriously doubt three seats will fit after what I've read. And if it can't take 3 child seats, should it carry the title of Family Car of the Year?

Thanks in advance, Blair

No they won't.

The Mark II might be a bit bigger than mine, but we've got high backed booster and Group 2,3 and the space left is minimal. You might squeeze a booster cushion seat in the middle?

You'll not get three in the back of the Superb, be it MK1 or MK2, whilst its a long car its not much wider than an Octavia. I barely managed it with my A8 when I had family visit me in Dorset.

I can also confirm - no chance of getting anything resembling a car seat in between two forward facing seats. You could add Renault Scenic and C4 Picasso to your list if you don't care about driving dynamics, reliability, etc. Unlikely given your current vRS collection!

Sometimes if you have the forward facing seats in one outside and the middle seat, it will leave more room on the other outside seat. Using belts and not Isofix helps squeeze everything in, though that has potential safety implications.

Honda F-RV? six seats- 3 x 3, can the roomster get three in the back?

I hate to say it but the Superb will not take 3 seats, My friends had the same problem and looked at everything from a Mondeo to and A6 and the only car that they found that would take a rear facing baby seat and two stage 2 seats is as you say an S-Max or Galaxy, don't be put of these cars to much Fords are getting better and the S-Max is a fully loaded good capable car especially if you go for the Titanium or Titanium X and its not much bigger than a Mondeo as that's what is is based upon.

I have 3 high back seats in the back of my Superb, they are a tight fit but safe and had to shop around for narrow fit ones. Made by Britax but cannot remember the name. I wanted an Octavia but could not fit the seats in at all.

Not sure how you would move from a rear facing to a stage 2 and fit it all in.
