1.9TDi (110 ASV) Engine churns/judders when slowing to a stop

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My engine has developed a churn or jugger-jugger-jugger noise and vibration when slowing to a stop. When you take you rfoot odd the brake or stop completley it idles smoothley again. I replaced the ASV on the EGR yesterday hoping this would fix it as the pipe had snapped off, and although the car turns off smoothley it still jugger-juger-juggers.

Anyone have any ideas what to look at next.

I should add i did hammer mod and eased the IQ back a bit to achieve smooth idle again.

Also, the car has a feint metallic rattle on tickover/slow running. Its steady/constant and doesnt change with the speed of the engine I dont think. Its not a tappetty noise its lightweight. The noise sounds like its coming from thin metal, it doesnt ring so whatever it is its fixed.

Might the two preblems be linked?

I wonder if this could possibly be the freewheel pulley on the alternator.

Wouldnt that change with engine speed? Its worth a look anyway.

Sorry for the thread resurrection, I have the same jugger jugger noise when braking to a stop. The moment I come to a halt it goes away.

It isn't the engine mounts.

Did you manage to fix it?

It's been there for 3 years on my car.

1.4 tdi Fabia, no mods.

There are no Octy 1s with the 1.4TDi mate.
