VRS Spark Plugs

Featured Replies

My local dealer has advised my spark plugs are good for 60k miles.

After the issues some people have had on here I just wondered if anyone had them changed on second or third service?

I can't say I have had any problems with them yet (*crosses fingers*) just being paranoid about broken plugs in turbos!

I thought they got changed at 39k (or thereabouts)?

RobL,

Did they remove the plugs and check them and give that opinion,

at how many miles did they do or say that at after actually checking the plugs?

& was that a Workshop Manager or Workshop Technician that checked and told you, OK until 60,000 miles?

Maybe best use another dealer that at least looks at the Service requirements of a vRS Twincharger.

The plugs might well look OK at 60,000 miles if someone was looking and checking,

your Warranty will maybe be out by then.

So its tough on you that the original plugs have been left in and the engine ends up wrecked.

They might be OK at 40,000 miles 'when they are due for changing,'

but i would be changing them before then, money well spent.

i certainly would be checking them at 20,000 miles to see how they are looking.

george

Service schedule says they are changed at 40k, I changed mine at 40k and they were fine.... Looked exactly as they should, I have a pic, but can't post it from my phone...

Mine never misfired in those 40k though!!

I've had new plug after 18,000 miles :-(

Thanks all, good to know it's usually 40k.

I haven't had any issues George and my car is only 17k at the moment.

I just thought 60k was a bit high on this car, think i'll get them changed next service just to be on the safe side.

Rather have an issue in warranty than outside.
