golf r32 suspension onto 4x4 turbo

Featured Replies

Has anyone done it? What did it drive like and how much would you say it lowered the car?

Thanks

Anyone lol

Am sure it has been done but would imagine same applies as 2wd's that the rear springs won't be weighted right for the bigger heavier octavia

The Octavia 4x4 is lighter than the R32 - 160Kg iirc

There are numerous threads about proposed fitment of R32 suspension (as the complete: spring, shock, tie bars, and ARB's)

The ARB's have been used, not sure anyone ever got round to fitting the rest

If you use the search function you'll easily dig up the old threads.

Yeah but what about the weight distribution? It would be terribly unbalanced. The front would be too stiff, and the back end too soft. One of the worst combinations I can think of.

i will have the h&r setup off mine soon but you need new rear springs as one broke so currently running standard rear and coilovers up front lol

so gonna take front coilovers off and replace with standard

you can have them in echange for your standard fronts and £50

Yeah but what about the weight distribution? ...

I'm not advising anyone to fit the R32 setup.

What I was trying to suggest to the OP was to use the search function and look up the threads where this has all been gone through before.

Phew! I just didn't want anybody thinking that the Octy being lighter would make it acceptable to fit the R32 setup. If the balance was the same it wouldn't be quite so much of an issue, except it might sit higher and not be compliant enough.
