mk1 octy door speakers

Featured Replies

Could anyone suggest good quality front door speakers that are a direct replacement for the standard ones please?

I understand the doors are quite shallow compared to other cars so its hard to get a direct swap thus looking for aftermarket upgrades with the same dimensions.

thanks,

Ben

I have alpine type R components in the front of my octy. At about the £160 mark they are expensive but you get what you pay for. Direct fit so easy install but need an amplifier to run them. Is it just speakers you need ? What else have you changed so far ?

My audio is completely standard however I feel the quality of the OEM speakers are poor. Im not an ICE enthusiast, just want good quality sound however £160 is alot for two door speakers.

I have a JA790 4 channel 1200 watts amplifier from my previous car which was used to power 6x9's in the parcel shelf but it looked abit thuggish and police were more inclined to do a stop check which I have experienced in the past so want everything hidden from sight

I have recently replaced a door aswel and no there is a clear vibration/rattling coming from said door, I'm assuming its because I had to rip the foam layer on the inside of the door. Will aftermarket speakers rectify this or do I need to somehow re-insulate the door?

I would suggest that you replace the head unit as the symphony OE unit in the octy isn't the greatest. Something from Alpine or pioneer will transform your listening experience. Sort out your door rattle and disconnect the tweeters in the rear door. Then add an Alpine powered slot ported sub in the boot area. Alpine SWE-815 is what you need. You will be amazed at the results !
