I've got to say, if it were mine I'd get rid of the silver mirrors.

I just have on my S3, it looks loads better and disguises the performance

aspirations of the variant. They are pretty big mirrors too and having them

colour matched makes them appear less 'dumbo' if they are black.

They are no different of course but it's a trick of the eye I suppose.

Mines debadged front and rear as well.

Although in your case the 4 exhausts may give it away a bit :p

Tonight on my way to the local Tesco express to pick up a bottle of wine for Mrs grr

I scared the bejeezus out of a guy in a 10 plate A3 1.8t (front wheel drive.)

We had a canter along a NSL piece of road and I completely rinsed him.

But with 105 bhp more than him in a car that just looks like his A3 but older

(to all but the most keen of eyes) I completely took him by surprise.

He arrived at the same Tesco a few minutes after me (only place in miles you can get chilled

wine for sensible prices after 4pm on a sunday) and asked what engine I

had in my A3. He had no idea it was a S3 and he was familiar with the variant

as he said it was he would have bought if the fuel/insurance costs were more favourable.

(He was a good 10 years younger than me)

I'd say project sleeper has been a great success so far...

Looks really nice, i think normal a4s/a5s look too similar, wheels styling etc some people like that I guess. A4 round the corner from me looks identical to this only with less exhaust (more doors obviously too)

Richard, not sure if it's standard on the S5, but you can order a black pack on lower spec models.

Nope. S4 / S5 comes with chrome as standard. You can spec a black pack or a 'black editon', pretty much the same as any other variant.

My S4 has chrome grill, which on the FL models looks better than the pre FL I think.

I like the trim to contrast, so black pack on light colours, darker colours I prefer the chrome.

To be honest I was dreading the dark on dark but in the flesh it looks very aggressive and I was pleasantly surprised.

What happened to the S4, I do prefer a touring myself but that's having kids and all that.
